The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) objective for a separate homeland (Tamil Eelam) for all Tamils threatens the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India and amounts to cession from the Indian Union and thus falls the ambit of unlawful activities said the Home Ministry of India explaining the reason for the further ban of the organization in India.

The Hindu quoted a former LTTE girl fighter Niromi de Soyaza who recently published a book as telling the LTTE tortured and killed alleged spies and “traitors” and also looted Tamil shops and homes while fighting the Indian peacekeepers in Sri Lanka.
