Sri Lanka Navy arrests another 47 trying to flee to Australia
July 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy has thwarted another attempt to illegally migrate to Australia Saturday morning when they arrested 47 persons in Negombo.
According to Navy Spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya, 28 of the group were in a fishing boat about 10 nautical miles in the seas off Negombo in the western coast. Another 19 were arrested on the shore while waiting for another boat to depart.
Navy Spokesman has said that they were still processing the arrested suspects and the figures may increase.
